Enable access in the tenant
Begin in the tenant you want Customer Central to access. Workday directs administrators to use Edit Tenant Setup – System, find the Customer Central section, and select Enable Customer Central Access.
The setting allows the connection to be made later. It does not place the tenant in Customer Central or make it available to users by itself.
Add the tenant in Customer Central
After the setting is enabled, add the tenant as a target tenant in Customer Central. This is the step that places it in the Current Tenants list and allows Customer Central to communicate with it.
Use the environment name as a control point. Confirm whether the target is an implementation or sandbox tenant and check that it is the intended environment before any user access or migration permissions are assigned.
Finish with user access and tenant-side security
Once the tenant is listed, provide access to the specific Customer Central users who need it. Then confirm that those users also have the required permissions within the tenant itself.
For production work, use the separate production-access and session process. For Object Transporter work, add the required source and target security after the tenant connection is in place. Keeping those steps separate makes the setup easier to validate.
For the current product guidance, see Workday’s documented tenant-access process.
