Make the tenant available first
Customer Central can access only tenants that have been made available to it. In the tenant you want to connect, Workday directs administrators to use Edit Tenant Setup – System and select Enable Customer Central Access in the Customer Central section.
That setting is necessary but not sufficient. It makes the tenant eligible to be added, but it does not add the tenant to Customer Central on its own.
Add the tenant to Current Tenants
The next step is to add the target tenant to Customer Central. Workday states that Customer Central cannot communicate with a target tenant until it appears in the Current Tenants list.
Keep this list purposeful. Add the tenant when it is needed for real configuration, migration, or comparison work, and verify the tenant name and environment before access is granted to anyone else.
Grant user access without confusing it with tenant security
Customer Central administrators use tenant access controls to manage which users can work with specific implementation tenants. This determines whether a person can select a connected tenant from Customer Central.
That access does not replace the security of the target tenant. Workday is clear that the user must still have the appropriate permissions in the tenant itself to perform the intended work. Review both layers before treating access as complete.
